Dr Godwin Ogbole
Dr Godwin Ogbole, MD, is Professor of Radiology at the University of Ibadan and Honorary Consultant Neuroradiologist at University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. He is an Atlantic Fellow for Equity in Brain Health at the University of California, San Francisco.
His clinical and research interests span paediatric and adult neuroradiology, with particular expertise in stroke, dementia, childhood epilepsy, brain tumours, low-field MRI, and machine-learning approaches to image analysis. He has served as Lead Radiologist for the multicountry Stroke Investigative Research and Educational Network and has contributed to collaborative neuroimaging programmes across Africa, Europe, and North America.
Professor Ogbole directs the Strengthening MRI Access, Research and Training in Africa (SMART Africa) Network, which advances equitable access to MRI through education, research, mentorship, and workforce development. He is especially committed to improving paediatric neuroimaging capacity and developing context-appropriate imaging technologies for resource-limited settings.
He holds postgraduate degrees in epidemiology, clinical investigation, and radiation physics, as well as a doctorate in neuroradiology, and has authored many peer-reviewed scientific publications.
